A scholarship in Europe in three Schengen countries, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, that provides a monthly stipend and free accommodation in travel tickets 2022-2024.

The study will be divided between 3 different countries as follows:-

  • Holland.
  • Portugal.
  • Spain.

Available universities:

The study will be in the following universities:

  • University of Cantabria
  • IHE Institute for Water Education
  • University of Algarve

Scholarship Description:

First semester: September to December.

After welcoming a master’s program at COASTHazar, students begin the academic year in Spain, at the University of Cantabria, with courses addressing core competencies in thematic areas: ocean and atmospheric sciences. coastal dynamics and coastal hazards; and partly in modeling and risk theory.

Second semester: from January to July.

At the beginning of January, students move to IHE Delft, in the Netherlands, for the start of their second semester, where they will take more advanced courses such as coastal hazards and wave modeling, coastal risk assessment, climate change impacts and adaptation and risk reduction. The semester ends with a two-week international summer school in July.

Third semester: September to January.

At the beginning of September, students move to UAlg for their third semester in Portugal, where they gain advanced skills in coastal adaptation, risk reduction, fieldwork, and data analysis. At the end of the semester, in January, students have the option to pursue a 4-6 week internship program at one of the associated partners.

Third semester: February to August.

The master’s thesis research will be conducted under the supervision of a lecturer from one of the partner universities. Depending on the topic and the student’s choice, the thesis research will be conducted at one of the three universities. Some theses will be developed in relation to one of the associated partners.


Funding is available for the scholarship in Europe for two years as follows:

  • study fees.
  • Salary 1400 euros per month.
  • flight tickets.
  • 3000 euros each year.
  • Assistance in obtaining a visa.
  • There are no restrictions for returning to your country.
